Europe surpasses the United States in prices and accounts for 73% of Peruvian shipments

International avocado trade closed the week with varying performance across markets. The United States recorded 1,516 shipments, down 2% from the previous week and 12% below 2024 levels, with Mexico accounting for 74% of the volume, followed by Peru (12%), California (11%), and Colombia (3%).

In Europe, arrivals reached 928 containers, 20% more than the previous week and 43% above last year, with Peru concentrating three-quarters of the supply and price increases of up to 42% in small sizes.

China received 34 containers, with Peru contributing 94% and Chile 6%, while prices rebounded by about 29%.

On the export side, Peru shipped 1,080 containers in week 35, 79% more than in the same period of 2024, of which 73% were destined for Europe.

For its part, Chile sent 104 containers, with a weekly increase of 51%, although still 35% below last year.
