Avobook Report Preview W22-2025

Peru consolidates its global presence while Mexico loses market share in the US.

During week 22, the global avocado market showed a combination of stability in volumes and relevant adjustments in the dynamics by origin and in prices.

In the United States, 1,440 shipments entered, with Mexico falling to its lowest level of participation so far this year (53%), while Peru increased its shipments by 53% compared to the previous week, putting pressure on prices and weakening retail demand.

In Europe, the total of 918 shipments represents a slight weekly decrease, although it remains 27% above the same period in 2024. Peru continues to lead with a 76% share, although for the first time it is losing ground.

In China, shipments exceeded 100 containers after weeks of disruptions, but prices continue to fall, with a year-on-year drop of 27%.

The Peruvian supply, on the rise, is reshaping the balance between markets, while Mexico faces production challenges and an adjustment in its dominant role.
