Avobook Report Preview W17-2025

Volumes are down in the US, South Africa is gaining strength in Europe, and China is cooling down.

Week 17 arrives with an avocado market that is beginning to shift its pace. Figures point to an adjustment in shipments, increasing pressure on certain sizes, and signs of more pronounced competition among origins.

While the volume shipped from Mexico to the United States fell 25% compared to the same period last year, markets like Europe and Asia experienced significant increases. In week 16, the United States received approximately 1,312 shipments, with Mexico leading the supply despite a 25% weekly decline. In contrast, Peru and Colombia showed signs of sustained growth, while California began to increase its share.

Europe, meanwhile, maintains an upward trend: with more than 1,145 containers entering the continent, volume is 56% higher than in 2014. Peru dominates the European market with more than half of the supply, followed by South Africa, which has increased its shipments by 41%. In Asia, and particularly in China, prices have fallen for the fourth consecutive week, although volume remains above last year's levels.
