Avobook Report Preview W01-2025

The United States receives fewer shipments due to the holidays and production declines from Mexico.

The end of 2024 showed an overall decline in avocado export volumes due to the year-end holidays. In the United States, shipments decreased by 27% in week 52, with Mexico contributing 94% of the total. Prices for large-sized avocados reached a high of $72.50 per 25-pound box, an unusual increase for this time of year.

In Europe, shipments also fell by 21%, led by Israel and Colombia, while prices remained stable for small calibers but dropped 10% for large calibers. In China, imports fell 24% compared to the previous week, with expectations of a recovery in the coming days.

Finally, Chile closed the week with a 27% decrease in weekly shipments, although it achieved a significant annual growth of 93% compared to the same period in 2023.
