Avobook Premium Report 2024 w21

Prices rise in Europe, and Mexico experiences an unprecedented drop compared to the United States.

The Avobook W21 Report reveals some surprising data from China: Peru has reduced its shipments, but prices are falling. Larger sizes have seen a 15% drop, while smaller sizes have fallen between 7% and 10%. Peruvian avocado volumes are also declining in Europe, but Peru continues to lead that market. This has facilitated the entry of Colombian fruit, and, as Avobook predicted, South African shipments have jumped from 40 to 317 containers due to fluctuations in shipments caused by problems on the shipping route. Despite these changes, supply and demand are now in balance, which has helped to alleviate inventory saturation and improve prices. The best example is what the Netherlands shows, with a 31% increase in the transaction value for size 22. The United States shows another of the week's peculiarities: for the first time since last year, Mexico is sending less than 40 million pounds of its fruit, which coincides with the increased presence of California avocados and the growth of Peruvian and Colombian shipments.
