Monthly Hass Avocado Market Report in Brazil
Brazil
LOCAL MARKET
March started with high prices, but they dropped very quickly towards the end of the month. Volume began to increase due to the price decrease. By the end of March, the fruit was ripening well. Some areas had low dry matter content, but overall the fruit was good.

According to https://ceagesp.gov.br/cotacoes/ as of April 8, 2026, prices are already significantly lower than at the beginning of March… In April, it is expected to remain at these low price levels…

EXPORT MARKET
March was the month when all packing facilities in Brazil began operating. By the end of the month, they were all at 100% capacity. Larger, certified fruit continues to be shipped to Europe, while all other types of fruit continue to be sent to Argentina. This large volume shipped to Argentina, along with fruit with low dry matter content, is expected to slow sales of Brazilian fruit in Argentina during the first weeks of April.

FIELD
By the end of March there are few areas with dry matter below 21%, so by April almost all farms would be available for harvesting.
PERSPECTIVES
April is already starting with order cuts from customers in Europe, due to the large volume coming from Peru, South Africa… the large fruit still has good demand in Europe, sizes 12 and 14 are being sent by air due to a lack of fruit of those sizes there.
Argentina in April should only improve towards the end of the month; during the beginning of April it's a disaster, there are no sales, no prices.
Chile is an alternative to Brazil, but not all packing facilities are authorized.
In the local market, volume must remain "high" but with very low prices.
