Brazil: May's dynamic Hass avocado market
Brazil
LOCAL MARKET
May saw the lowest prices of the year, but volume increased compared to April. Brazil is expected to continue experiencing low prices throughout June.

The current price of Hass avocados at the central supply center, CEAGESP
According to https://ceagesp.gov.br/cotacoes/ as of June 3, 2026, the rate is already low, but in line with April. Not many changes are expected for June.

EXPORT MARKET
In May, we began to see a decrease in volume due to lower prices in Europe and Argentina, as well as a reduction in fruit volume in the orchards. By the end of May, few Hass packing plants were still processing fruit; most had already finished their season. Brazil is expected to continue exporting to Europe until the end of July, and to Argentina and Uruguay until September.

FIELD
May saw the early fruit harvest with 28% dry matter and a lot of Category 2 fruit from those areas—fruit that was ready to harvest in February but remained on the trees. May continued with fruit from higher altitude areas, cooler regions, but with large sizes (12/14/16). In June, Brazil continued with fruit from cooler areas, large fruit, and a gradually decreasing volume.
PERSPECTIVES
By June, volume in Brazil should increase, but prices will remain low. Argentina still doesn't have good prices, but Brazil should continue to offer 10 trucks per week there. Volume for Europe should decrease significantly, as current availability doesn't meet the certifications required for exporting to Europe.
