The information available on this page does not replace the respective official publications in the Official Journal of the Union. Last update of the data base: 08/08/2025.
So now Brazil can import avocados from Chile, Peru, and Mexico.

Local market
The volume traded in August via CEAGESP decreased, due to a season with less fruit, as shown by the central market statistics.

The price of Hass avocados at the central supply center, CEAGESP ( https://ceagesp.gov.br/cotacoes/ ) on September 10th already reflected the shortage (USD 2.20/kg to 2.85/kg).

The expectation is for a price increase in the local market and with imports arriving in October/November.
Export market
Brazil continued sending 10 carts per week to Argentina and Uruguay, the volume is larger than July and with better prices USD 2.07/kg FOB to Argentina and in line with the previous month for Uruguay the price was USD 1.72/kg.
Tropical avocado air shipments abroad in August totaled 200 tons at an FOB price of USD 1.8/kg.

Field
We're still in the flowering season and the small fruits are starting to appear. September is a critical time of heat and low humidity that can affect production.
Brazil continues to supply fruit until the end of September or mid-October to meet local market demand.
