First estimate of the Peruvian Hass avocado export campaign 2026

As every year, and a few weeks before the start of the Hass avocado export campaign, the Association of Producers and Exporters of Hass Avocados of Peru – ProHass presents its first estimate for the 2026 campaign.

In a context marked by climatic conditions associated with the El Niño phenomenon, which have generated fruit drop and lower availability of commercial sizes, mainly in the northern part of the country, ProHass estimates a volume of 773 thousand metric tons, which represents a growth of 7% compared to the 2025 campaign in which a record export volume of 723 thousand metric tons was reached, the highest recorded for Peruvian Hass avocado.

It is worth remembering that the 2025 campaign registered a growth of +38% compared to 2024, consolidating the recovery of the sector after a previous year significantly affected by adverse weather conditions.

This figure is constructed from the collection of information from the country's main exporting companies, both associated and non-associated, which allows for a representative estimate of the expected behavior of Peruvian supply.

In this regard, it is crucial to maintain this quality standard, strengthen controls on heavy metals and residues, and strictly comply with the technical standard of not harvesting or exporting fruit below 22% dry matter, as a minimum, an essential condition to guarantee the safety, quality of the product and the reputation of Peruvian Hass avocados in international markets.

ProHass will continue to monitor the campaign's progress on an ongoing basis, with the aim of providing timely and reliable information to all stakeholders in the supply chain, contributing to better planning and the sustainability of the sector in international markets.
