Westfalia Fruit successfully introduces Kenyan avocados to the Indian market

Westfalia Fruit marks a new milestone in expanding the avocado market in India by introducing high-quality Kenyan avocados, consolidating its position as a market leader.

Westfalia Fruit has achieved a significant milestone by successfully delivering the first official sea shipment of Kenyan avocados to the Indian market. This introduction adds to the wide range of high-quality products the company has brought to India in recent years, solidifying its position as a market leader and the country's largest avocado importer.

With a market share of over 60% in Tanzanian avocado imports to India and a successful introduction of Australian avocados to the local market, Westfalia Fruit India continues to expand its presence in India. Furthermore, the company has recently secured market access for South African avocados, enabling it to offer consistent volumes of high-quality avocados year-round.

The Indian market for imported avocados has experienced 100% year-on-year growth over the past two years, and imports of this fruit are expected to double by 2024. Westfalia Fruit has distinguished itself by offering high-quality avocados, differentiating itself from other importers who have introduced unripe fruit to the market. This focus on product quality has contributed to the increased demand for and consumption of avocados in India.
