Westphalia celebrates a successful year in Asia

Westfalia, the leading multinational avocado producer, is celebrating a prosperous year in Asia with exciting prospects for the continent's emerging markets. With a focus on India, the market has experienced exponential growth, with Westfalia leading the way through local partnerships and production expansions.

The recent commercial harvest of Hass avocados in India marks a significant milestone, with more plantings scheduled to come into production soon. Furthermore, the successful import of avocados from Western Australia further strengthens Westfalia's position in the Indian market.

In China, despite previous pandemic challenges, the market is showing signs of recovery, with South African avocados gaining access and Westphalia leading exports.

Meanwhile, in Japan, avocado imports from Peru increased considerably in the past year, supported by marketing initiatives and the recent access granted to South African avocados.

Zac Bard, Westfalia's Business Development Executive, highlights the positive impact these markets will have on local African communities, underscoring the transformative role that avocados grown in Africa and sold in Asia play in improving living conditions in rural and remote economies.
