Avocado volume arriving in China drops by 39%
In the Chinese market, Peru is experiencing a significant drop in volume. In week 39, 27 shipments arrived, of which 15 came from Chile, which is now the main supplier (55%); 10 from Peru; and 2 from Kenya.
The Peruvian decline is reflected in the total volume, which is 39% lower than the previous week. However, it's not all bad news, as fruit availability is at better levels, equivalent to 59% higher than the same week in 2023.
Prices in China are very similar across different sizes. Those that were skyrocketing have been falling, and those that were less expensive have risen, keeping prices across sizes close. That is, averaging between $3.8 and $3.9 per kilo.

Prices had been trending upward after experiencing a significant drop in previous weeks, only stabilizing in week 39 when they reached $4 per kilo. Now, the price has remained steady for several weeks.
