Trops bets on Portugal: Invests 6 million euros in a new production center

The Spanish company Trops has begun an expansion of its warehouse in Tavira, Portugal, starting on January 2nd, with the aim of establishing a new production center at its Portuguese headquarters. With an investment exceeding six million euros, this expansion is expected to be completed around mid-2025, according to Duarte Pereira, head of Trops in Portugal, in a statement to Jornal de Negocios.

Recognized for its specialization in avocados and mangoes, the company counts among its main clients in Portugal well-known companies such as Mercadona and Lidl.

In addition to the expansion in Portugal, Trops faces the challenge of opening new facilities in the Campo de Gibraltar, in Cadiz, after having acquired land on September 12, as Colilles explained to Fruit Today.

Trops' expansion strategy intensifies, focusing on areas where water availability is not an obstacle, thus marking a decisive advance towards new horizons.
