South Africa, Kenya and Colombia increase their presence while Peru falls behind in the European market

The European avocado market closed week 34 with a decline in volume. A total of 843 shipments entered the market, representing a 9% drop compared to the previous week and a 20% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Peru dominated the market, accounting for 74% of the supply, followed by Kenya and Tanzania with a combined 10%, Colombia with another 10%, and South Africa with the remaining 6%. Among the countries of origin, Peru was the only one to reduce its presence, with a 17% decrease compared to the previous week. In contrast, the other countries increased their shipments: South Africa reached 50 containers per week, while Colombia and Kenya exceeded 80.

From a commercial standpoint, prices in Rotterdam remained stable, with no significant changes in the monitored sizes. However, in the Spanish port, increases were observed in specific sizes, such as 18 and 24, which registered rises of around 10%.
