The latest report from Avocados Australia, "Facts at a Glance 2023/24," reveals remarkable growth in Australian avocado production, which increased by 30% compared to last year, reaching 150,913 tonnes. Australian avocado exports saw a substantial 63% increase, with revenues reaching $96.1 million. Although Australia is a small player in the global avocado market, John Tyas, director of Avocados Australia, stated that the sector continues to work on expanding its presence in both existing markets and new destinations, promoting the quality of the product abroad.
At the regional level, Western Australia and Queensland lead production, accounting for 44% and 42% of the total volume, respectively.
