The main destination market for Peruvian avocados is the Netherlands
Peruvian avocado exports reached US$953 million in the first nine months of the year, representing a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2022.
The main destination markets for Peruvian avocados were the Netherlands (US$ 293 million), Spain (US$ 185 million), the United States (US$ 135 million), Chile (US$ 97 million) and the United Kingdom (US$ 97 million).
Weather conditions affected the August harvest, which totaled 45,041 tons, representing a 6.9% decrease compared to the same month in 2022.
The regions with the lowest avocado production were Apurímac, Moquegua, Ayacucho, and Arequipa, with declines of between 40 and 80%. In contrast, Pasco, Ica, Huánuco, and Lambayeque registered increases of between 40 and 88%.
The main avocado exporters were Avocado Packing Company SAC, Westfalia Fruit Perú SAC, Camposol SA, Virú SA, Sociedad Agrícola Drokasa SA, Agrícola Cerro Prieto SA and Agrícola Pampa Baja SAC
Peruvian avocado exports continue to grow, although weather conditions affected the August harvest. The Netherlands remains the main destination market, followed by Spain and the United States.
