Get ready for takeoff at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024

FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024 is preparing for the digital revolution in agriculture, with a greater focus on smart farming and technology startups.

FRUIT LOGISTICA, the leading trade fair for the global fresh produce business, continues to push boundaries and provide a platform for the development and growth of emerging technologies. From February 7 to 9, 2024, the fair will present a significantly expanded program in Berlin exploring the digital transformation of agriculture: a vital and exciting area of development that is changing how fresh fruit and vegetables are produced, supplied, and marketed.

Under its new motto Farming Forward, 22 different exhibitors from the smart agriculture sector will debut a new stage in Hall 3.1. On the mornings of Wednesday, February 7, and Thursday, February 8, these exhibitors will showcase cutting-edge technology and provide expert information on "the digital revolution in agriculture."

On Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, Tom Stenzel of the US-based CEA Alliance will use the same stage to host panel discussions on various aspects of the future of controlled environment agriculture (CEA). These topics include sustainability in indoor production, the future viability of vertical farming, and emerging technologies. Featured speakers include Rick Schneiders of Siemens and Ellis Janssen of Philips Signify.

On Friday, February 9, Wageningen University & Research will present some comprehensive science in the area of Farming Forward, during a special symposium packed with the latest advances in disease monitoring, food safety, data-driven greenhouses, IoT-based systems, automation, and robotics.

Also on Friday, FRUIT LOGISTICA will host 20 young and promising companies in Hall 5.1 for its annual Startup Day. This year, one of the focuses is on disruptive, digitally based innovation for logistics and supply chains.

For FRUIT LOGISTICA Director Kai Mangelberger, the focus on smart agriculture and innovative supply chains in this year's expanded program is a welcome and timely addition. "We are delighted to showcase the immense potential of digital technologies, which are revolutionizing so many areas of the fresh produce business. From farm to fork, the innovations presented at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2024 will pave the way for a more sustainable, efficient, and productive future for the industry."
