Avocado prices in China fall 59% compared to last year

The Chinese market reported the arrival of 54 avocado shipments in week 33, representing a 10% decrease compared to the previous week. Even so, the level of imports remains well above that recorded during the same period last year, when reductions in shipments from Peru were already evident.

In terms of prices, the trend is clearly downward. Sizes between 18 and 24 experienced a 34% drop, approaching the values observed in 2023. This decline contrasts with what happened in 2024, when prices remained high at this time of year.

The year-on-year comparison reveals an even more drastic picture: compared to 2024, prices have fallen by 59%, reflecting the impact of the current dynamics of the Asian market.
