Peru takes the lead in Europe as shipments grow 21% in week 13

The European market closed with the arrival of 700 avocado shipments, marking a 21% increase compared to the previous week. However, despite this rebound, the volume remains 9% below the levels recorded during the same period last year.

In terms of market share, Peru has positioned itself as the leading supplier with 29%, narrowly surpassing Israel, which holds 28%. Following behind are Spain with 19%, Kenya and Tanzania with 5%, Brazil with just under 5%, Colombia with 3%, and Chile with less than 3%.

The largest volume movements came from Peru, which increased its shipments by 33% compared to the previous week, consolidating its rise in the European market. In contrast, Morocco suffered a drastic 74% drop in its exports, significantly reducing its presence in the region.

Regarding prices, Rotterdam saw a sharp increase in the most popular gauges: 18 gauge rose by 15%, while the smaller 30 gauge saw a 21% increase. Spain, on the other hand, remained stable with no significant price changes.
