Peru reduces weekly avocado shipments but doubles volume compared to 2024

The Peruvian avocado market recorded a total of 819 shipments during week 36, representing an 18% decrease compared to the previous week. Despite this weekly decline, the volume was 100% higher than that observed during the same week last year, more than double the amount exported during that period.

The distribution of destinations showed a clear concentration in Europe, which absorbed 73% of shipments. The United States received 12%, Chile 11%, Asia 2%, and other countries in the Americas 2%. This trend confirms a shift in fruit exports toward the European market, at the expense of Asia and, to a lesser extent, the United States.

So far this year, Europe's share has hovered around 61%, but this week it far exceeded that average. Chile also increased its share, rising from 9% year-to-date to 11% this week.
