Peru reduces weekly avocado shipments, although it maintains year-on-year growth of 26%.

Peru closed week 24 with a total of 1,395 avocado shipments, representing a 10% decrease compared to the previous week. Despite this weekly decline, the volume remains 26% higher than that recorded during the same period last year, consolidating an overall positive year-on-year performance.

Regarding destinations, Europe continues to be the leading recipient of Peruvian fruit. This week, 60% of shipments were destined for the European market, followed by the United States with 22%. Further behind are Chile with 9%, Asia with 6%, and other smaller destinations that, together, represent a negligible percentage.

It is worth noting that Europe has maintained a dominant position in recent weeks. In fact, in week 25, the continent accounted for 82% of fruit arrivals, marking three consecutive weeks with a share exceeding 80%. This concentration demonstrates not only strong demand from the European market but also a clear export strategy focused on that destination.

Logistical behavior and the evolution of export volumes from Peru will be key to maintaining the balance between supply and demand in the different destination markets, especially in a context where the Peruvian window is in full activity.
