Peru maintains moderate growth in avocado exports

The Peruvian avocado export market closed week 6 with a total of 84 shipments, representing a slight increase of 4% compared to the previous week. However, this figure remains well below the levels recorded during the same period last year, when shipments exceeded 200 per week, implying a 61% drop.

Regarding the distribution of destinations, Europe accounts for 62% of the market share, followed by Asia with 36%, while Chile and other markets represent less than 2%.

Shipments to Europe have shown a gradual increase, although still somewhat restrained. Price-related factors continue to influence the amount of fruit exported, creating uncertainty about market behavior in the coming weeks.
