Peru increases its avocado exports after three weeks of decline and consolidates its leadership in Europe

Peru closed week 26 with a total of 1,406 avocado shipments destined for various international markets, representing a 7% increase compared to the previous week and a 20% increase compared to the same week last year. This increase marks a recovery in export activity after three consecutive weeks of declining volumes.

The breakdown of destinations shows that Europe remains the main market for Peruvian avocados, absorbing 54% of the total exported this week. The United States received 24%, followed by Chile with 11%, Asia with 6%, other markets in the Americas with 4%, and finally Canada with 2%.

Despite wider distribution, Peru maintains a clear dominance in the European market, where it continues to control over 80% of the supply. This position reinforces its role as the main supplier on that continent, in a context where competition from other origins is beginning to emerge, but without yet altering the sustained leadership of Peruvian production.
