Week 8 for the export origin Peru
Peru increases its exports to 287 shipments and regains prominence in Europe
Peru sends 287 shipments in week 8, with a strong weekly increase and a focus on Europe. It is regaining momentum and has reached 11% of the European market.
Peru's export sector closed week 8 with 287 shipments, marking a 171% increase compared to the previous week. Year-on-year, the volume was 58% higher than that recorded in the same week last year, demonstrating a significant recovery in shipments.
The main destination for the week was Europe, which accounted for 68% of shipments. Chile represented 31%, practically all associated with a single shipment, while no significant participation from other markets was observed during the period.
The magnitude of the volume shipped is especially relevant considering that, in the preceding weeks, shipments had been showing levels very similar to the 2025 curve. In fact, until the previous week, shipments had been slightly lower than last year's. However, this latest measurement shows a marked recovery, with a volume that far exceeds recent records.
Meanwhile, Peru is beginning to reposition itself within the European market. In week 9, it reached an 11% market share in that destination, and if this trend continues, it could once again become one of the continent's leading suppliers within the next two or three weeks.
