Peruvian exports

Peru dispatches 106 shipments and reduces its shipments by 27%.

Week 7 recorded 106 departures from Peru, 27% less than the previous week, with Europe accounting for 93% of the exported volume.

Peru's exports totaled 106 shipments at the close of week 7, a figure that represents a 27% drop compared to the previous week and an 18% decrease compared to the same week last year.

The shipments were heavily concentrated in Europe, which absorbed 93% of the volume dispatched during the week. Five percent went to other markets in the Americas, while Asia and Chile each accounted for 1%.

The low Asian participation this week is related to the intermittent nature of shipments to China. So far in 2016, that market has accounted for 31% of Peruvian exports, while Europe accounts for 65%. Chile represents 1%, and other destinations in the Americas make up 3% of total exports during this period.
