Peru reaches 20% participation in Europe
Europe recorded 956 shipments in week 11, with Israel and Spain leading the way, while Kenya and Peru doubled their arrivals and Chile saw a 45% drop.
The European avocado market saw a moderate increase in weekly volume during week 11. A total of 956 shipments arrived, representing a 10% increase compared to the previous week and 29% above the volume recorded during the same week in 2025.
The supply was distributed primarily between Israel and Spain, which each accounted for 25% of shipments. Peru followed with a 20% share, then Colombia with 13%, and Morocco with 8%. Chile represented 4% of arrivals, while Kenya and Mexico each contributed approximately 2%.
Among the most significant changes of the week, Kenya and Peru registered the largest increases, practically doubling their arrivals compared to the previous period. In contrast, Chile showed the most significant drop, with a 45% decrease in shipments.
In terms of prices, the behavior varied depending on the market and size. In Rotterdam, the smallest sizes saw a slight decrease of between 2% and 5%, while the other sizes showed an upward trend, albeit within moderate ranges. In Spain, however, a general drop in prices was observed, with more pronounced declines in small sizes, which reached drops of up to 12%, while large sizes fell between 2% and 3%.
