Peru is accelerating its avocado shipments, with Europe accounting for 68% of the destination.

In week 15, Peru registered a significant increase in its avocado exports, reaching 889 containers, which represents a 26% increase compared to the previous week. This volume is also significantly higher than that recorded in the same week of 2024, with an increase of 64%.

This difference is partly explained by the fact that last year, during these weeks, there was a drop in export volumes that later recovered. Although the overall trend is upward, it is not always linear, as factors such as weather or the pace of the harvest can cause fluctuations.

Regarding market distribution, 68% of shipments were destined for Europe, further solidifying its role as the main market for Peruvian avocados. Asia received 14%, the United States 9%, Chile 5%, and the remaining 4% was distributed under the APB category. It is worth noting that in week 14 of last year, Europe represented only 39% of total destinations, so the growth has been considerable.

Although European participation decreased slightly in week 15, it still remained above 35%, marking a sustained trend that reinforces the importance of the European market for Peruvian avocados at this stage of the season.
