Peru's Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation promotes the export of frozen avocado puree
The Minister of Agricultural Development and Irrigation, Ángel Manero Campos, announced during the launch of the XXVI Fuerte Avocado Festival in Santa Eulalia, the intention to include frozen avocado puree in Peruvian exports to take advantage of the diverse varieties of the fruit.
The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Ángel Manero Campos, participated in the launch of the 26th Fuerte Avocado Festival in the main square of the Santa Eulalia district. During the event, he emphasized the importance of boosting demand for Peruvian products to improve the profits of family farmers in the country. He also announced plans to include frozen avocado puree in exports as a strategy to take advantage of the fruit's diverse varieties.
The festival, which will bring together 33 farmers dedicated to the production of Peru's "green gold," will feature producers from various locations, including San Jerónimo de Punan and San José de Palle Viejo. During the event, awards will be given to the best producer and the best avocado, recognizing those who dedicate their lives to cultivating the fruit.
The Minister highlighted the potential of avocados in international markets, especially in the United States and the European Union, where demand is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. He also emphasized the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to support small-scale farmers, facilitating their access to new markets and promoting the export of high-quality Peruvian products.
