The Chinese avocado market briefly returns to 100 containers per week, but prices remain well below 2024 levels.

The Chinese avocado market experienced a slight rebound in import volumes this week, with an estimated 119 shipments arriving from Peru. This marks a return to levels above 100 containers per week, something that hadn't occurred for four weeks, following a period of relatively low volumes.

Despite this temporary increase, projections indicate that in the coming weeks the volume will decrease again, repeating a similar pattern to that observed recently.

Regarding prices, the values recorded this week remained virtually identical to those of the previous week. However, when compared to the same period last year, the difference is notable: in 2023, the price per kilo for sizes between 18 and 24 was around four dollars, while in 2024 there is a 36% decrease compared to that benchmark.
