Green Box Revolution: We are importers, exporters and marketers of fresh fruit

Who are we?

GBR is owned by the Lührs Concha family, a family of entrepreneurs with over 50 years of experience in retail and over 60 years in the agricultural industry, where they are stone fruit producers and, currently, also marketers of avocados and citrus fruits. GBR is led by its General Manager, Juan Ignacio Lührs C., and his team, which is growing organically with outstanding professionals and collaborators.

With the vision of breaking the "black box" paradigm in both the import and export of fresh fruit (mainly avocados and citrus fruits), Green Box Revolution was born in early 2022. We always focus on transparency in settlements, 24/7 contact with counterparties, and generating value throughout the chain without skimping on expenses, but at the same time seeking to be cost-efficient so that returns are the best in line with the market.

Regarding avocado imports, we work with suppliers who guarantee the quality needed to serve our customers in the Chilean market. In some cases, we establish direct communication with the farms, packing facilities, and logistics, especially at the beginning of the Peruvian avocado import season, when obtaining the best quality and sizes is challenging due to the need for centralized collection.

Later in the campaign, we worked with several of the largest exporters in Peru, who have their own fields and a more homogeneous quality in each of their shipments, generating total confidence for our clients.

For the Chilean market, we have offices and a cold storage facility on the southern outskirts of Santiago (Lo Herrera), primarily serving the Metropolitan Region (Santiago) and southern Chile, reaching as far as Punta Arenas. After the import season ends, GBR continues to supply its clients, as we have extensive access to fruit in Chilean fields. In some cases, we are involved in the management and support of the harvest year-round, ultimately handling the sale of all the fruit.

As short and medium-term challenges, Green Box will pave the way to new sales channels such as HORECA, supermarkets directly and other channels that allow for better sales for each size.

Our vision for the future is to be one of the country's leaders in the marketing of avocados through wholesale, retail and distribution channels, and then to grow strongly in citrus fruits and continue with other fresh fruits that are of interest to our customers.

In terms of exports, Green Box has already ventured into the market as a commercial representative for avocados from Peru to European and Asian markets. Since 2023, we have been supplying Chilean exporters to ship avocados to countries in the region, as well as to Asia and Europe. This year, 2024, we have a focused and responsible export plan to provide excellent quality to our clients and the best returns for producers.

Just as we do with imports, we seek the greatest cost efficiency, but without skimping on expenses necessary to get the product to its destination in optimal condition, guaranteeing the best return for the producer.

As medium- and long-term challenges, we aim to achieve organic and responsible growth in avocado export volumes each year, and eventually include citrus fruits. Furthermore , we are developing and seeking strategic alliances with importers in other markets to build trust and, in some cases, to become their commercial representatives in Latin America.
