The Fruit Attraction 2024 International Fair opened its doors on October 8th in Madrid, consolidating itself as one of the most important events in the fruit and vegetable sector worldwide.
In its 16th edition, the fair has registered record figures, with more than 2,100 exhibiting companies from 56 countries, and a total attendance of more than 100,000 industry professionals is expected. Furthermore, as IFEMA Madrid pointed out, the event has expanded considerably, occupying 70,000 square meters across 10 pavilions, a 9% increase compared to the previous year.

A highlight of this year's event is the prominence of the avocado as the star product. "The avocado will be the central product this year, with various initiatives focused on this superfood," the organizers emphasized, noting its growing importance in Spanish production and exports.
In addition, the Global Avocado Congress , held on October 7, brought together key market players to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the avocado industry.
Among this year's new features are areas such as Innova&Tech , which focuses on technological innovation and sustainability in fruit and vegetable production, with particular attention to biotechnology and agrotechnology. The international component of the fair has also been strengthened, with a 22.5% increase in the space dedicated to international exhibitors, now representing 45% of the total.
In this context, our Avobook team , comprised of Gabriel Velásquez and Jorge Molina, attended the event, which concluded on October 10th, undertaking important networking activities . During their participation, they interacted with various key players in the avocado market, such as producers, distributors, and exporters, exploring new business opportunities and trends within this growing industry.

“The first day was marked by the launch of the first edition of Avomazine, a publication focused on strengthening the avocado industry. We visited our main sponsors and collaborators, receiving an excellent reception and distributing more than 300 copies. Our presence at the fair reflects our commitment to expanding and strengthening our network of contacts within the sector,” stated Gabriel Velásquez, Commercial Director of Avobook.
Furthermore, the trade fair has become an essential platform for the internationalization of the fruit and vegetable industry. This year, the International Buyers program stood out , attracting more than 700 buyers from 70 countries and facilitating direct contact between exhibitors and buyers from key markets such as China and Saudi Arabia. According to the organizers, "Fruit Attraction continues to solidify its position as a fundamental event for generating business opportunities globally."
The fair also recognized innovation in the sector through the Innovation Hub Awards , which celebrate advancements in sustainability and entrepreneurship. This space, located between pavilions 1 and 3, showcased more than 40 innovative products designed to drive technological development within the sector.
The fair also featured a packed program of activities, including specialized forums such as the Biofruit Congress , dedicated to organic production, and Biotech Attraction , which brought together experts to discuss advances in biotechnology applied to the agricultural sector. In addition, more than 40 innovations were presented at the Innovation Hub , a space dedicated to awarding prizes for the best proposals in sustainability and technology.

This year, the auxiliary sector has also gained prominence, accounting for 24% of the total trade fair. Areas such as fresh food logistics have seen a 26% increase, highlighting the growing importance of improving efficiency and reducing food waste.
The event has also fostered discussions on the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture and the adoption of more sustainable packaging, topics of great interest in the fight against climate change.
This is how Fruit Attraction 2024 became an essential meeting point for the exchange of knowledge and the creation of new business alliances in the fruit and vegetable sector. With the participation of innovative and market-leading companies, such as Avobook, the trade fair reaffirmed its role as a strategic platform for the internationalization and development of the sector.
