Avocado exports from Peru rise 1% in week 23 while Europe accounts for 55% of shipments

The Peruvian avocado export campaign maintained a steady pace at the close of week 23, registering a total of 1,557 shipments. This volume represents a marginal increase of 1% compared to the previous week, consolidating the stability that the export flow has shown in recent weeks.

Regarding the distribution of destinations, Europe continues to lead as the main market for Peruvian fruit, absorbing 55% of shipments. The United States ranks second with 18%, followed by Asia with 15%, Chile with 8%, while Canada and other markets account for the remaining 4%.

Although Asia slightly surpasses the United States as a destination in the 2025 year-to-date total, with a 15% share compared to 13%, in recent weeks there has been a greater flow towards the US market, while shipments to Asia have not shown significant growth compared to previous weeks.

Another relevant fact is Peru's growing share of the European market. During week 24, Peruvian shipments reached 83% of the continent's avocado supply, reaffirming the strong position of Peruvian exports in Europe during this part of the season.
