Chilean avocado exports fall 34% in week 11, with Latin America as the main destination

Chile's avocado export sector closed week 10 with a sharp decline in shipments. Only 57 shipments were recorded, representing a 34% drop compared to the previous week.

Latin America remains the primary destination for Chilean fruit, absorbing 74% of shipments, while Europe receives 19% and the United States just 7%. In key markets—Europe, the United States, and China—Chile maintains a market share of less than 5% in each.

Exports to Asia have virtually ceased, reinforcing the trend among Chilean exporters to prioritize the Latin American region. The reduction in shipments reflects an adjustment in the sector's trade strategy, in a context of limited supply and fluctuating demand across different markets.
