United States: Stable prices and increased imports

Week 48 closes with an estimated total of 1,364 containers or trucks imported into the US market.

This week's volume represents a 17% increase compared to the previous week; however, it is 10% lower than the volume recorded in the same week of 2023.

Approximately 97% of the market was supplied by Mexican avocados. Of the remaining percentage, 2% came from Colombia, while both Chile and the Dominican Republic contributed less than 1%.

During week 48, nearly 53 million pounds of avocados were imported from Mexico, representing an increase of about 8 million pounds compared to the previous week.

Regarding border prices (Texas), no clear trends are observed, as behavior varies according to size. Except for size 60, which saw a 15% increase compared to the previous week, prices remain relatively stable, with variations of no more than 5%. It is worth noting that prices for the larger sizes (#32, #36, and #40) reached $67.60 USD per 25-pound box, very close to the annual high, recorded in week 26, when it reached $71 USD.
