United States with prices increasing only for the largest avocados

The United States market, as of the end of week 43, confirms more than ever the supremacy of Mexican avocados. 98% of the fruit in the country originates from Mexico.

The country received 1,377 shipments, including containers and trucks, which represents 9% less than the previous week and 14% lower than the same date in 2023.

The main reason is the reduction in Mexican fruit, which fell by 8%. The only country that stands out as a supplement is Chile, although its shipments decreased by 39%, yet it still accounts for 1.2% of the total. The remaining suppliers, combined, do not exceed 1% of the avocados that arrived in the United States at the end of week 43.

In this market, prices are falling across virtually all sizes. For example, size 48 (medium/large) saw a 16% price decrease, while size 70 (small) experienced a 10% drop. The only exception to this trend is the largest fruit.
