The USDA is seeking candidates for the National Hass Avocado Council

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the opening of nominations for the Hass Avocado Council to fill eight membership vacancies whose terms end on October 31, 2024. Applications must be submitted by April 1. Those selected will serve three-year terms, from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2027.

The Hass Avocado Council is looking for four national producers, each consisting of two full members and two alternates, as well as four importers, with the same number of full members and alternates.

Currently, the council has twelve members, including seven producers and two importers, plus three rotating members between producers and importers. Each member has a designated alternate. More information is available on the Hass Avocado Council website on the AMS page.
