The ICA and the private sector continue to promote Hass avocado exports to the Republic of Korea

The Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) and Corpohass led the opening meeting for the verification visit by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency of Korea (APQA). The visit aims to validate compliance with the operational work plan (PTO) for exporting Hass avocados from Colombia to Korea.

The ICA presented the phytosanitary measures it implements to ensure compliance with the PTO. These measures include the official registration of production sites, packing plants, a traceability system, inspection, and issuance of the phytosanitary certificate.

The APQA will conduct a technical tour of production sites and packing plants in Antioquia to evaluate Colombia's phytosanitary measures.

The signing of the PTO has allowed Colombian avocado exports to Korea to reach a total of 19 shipments with a volume of 240 tons.

The ICA hopes that the verification visit will be successful and contribute to strengthening trade cooperation between Colombia and Korea.

The APQA verification visit is an important step in ensuring that Colombian avocado exports to Korea meet phytosanitary requirements. The efforts of both countries to conduct this technical visit reflect their commitment to trade cooperation.
