Colombian Hass avocados solidify their presence at the Super Bowl with record exports

Colombia exported 6,512 tons of Hass avocados for the 2025 Super Bowl, marking a 350% growth and strengthening its presence in the US market.

Colombian Hass avocados continue to gain ground in the North American market, with a historic participation in the 2025 Super Bowl. In this edition of the most-watched sporting event in the United States, Colombia exported 6,512 tons of avocados, far exceeding the 1,336 tons shipped last year and registering an impressive growth of 350%, according to data from the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA).

This milestone is the result of a joint effort between the agricultural sector and the ICA's 'Inspection at Origin' program, which ensured quality and compliance with phytosanitary standards at packing plants in Antioquia, Quindío, Caldas, Valle del Cauca, and Risaralda. This strategy has improved logistics and facilitated avocado access to key international markets.

Under the brand 'Avocados from Colombia', producers have found in the Super Bowl an ideal platform to position their product in homes and businesses across the United States. In 2023, the subsector saw growth of $180.1 million, a figure that rose to $267.3 million in 2024, representing an increase of 48.5%, according to Corpohass.

The industry's growth is due to the quality of Colombian avocados, market expansion, and the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices that have allowed for a continuous increase in production. With this successful participation, Colombia reaffirms its role as a key player in the growing US avocado demand, joining other suppliers such as Mexico, which also projected more than 100 tons for the event.
