Chilean avocados are balancing their destinations: Europe dominates and Argentina is gaining ground in the region

During the close of week 42, Chile recorded 472 containers of avocado exports, solidifying its role as one of the world's leading suppliers in the mid-season. Although the volume represents a 9% decrease compared to the previous week, it remains 59% above the year-on-year level, demonstrating strong performance compared to the same period last year.

The distribution of destinations confirms the dominance of the European market, which accounted for two-thirds of total shipments. Latin America was the second most important region, with an 18% share, followed by Asia with 12%, while the remaining 4% went to the United States.

The behavior of shipments continues to fluctuate, alternating between weeks of increase and decrease, without a stable linear trend. However, overall, Europe continues to absorb the majority of exports, with a 72% cumulative share so far this season. Latin America follows with 19%, a destination driven primarily by sales to Argentina, which remains the main regional recipient.
