Avocado shipments to China decrease and Peruvian fruit prices fall

During the current week, China received a total of 30 containers of avocados, with less than 5% coming from Chile and the rest from Peru. This volume represents a 25% decrease compared to the previous week. However, projections indicate that by weeks 11 and 12, shipments could recover to approximately 50 containers per week, reflecting the characteristic intermittency of the Chinese market.

Regarding prices, a significant drop was recorded. Last week, the price per kilo was around $5, while currently it has fallen to approximately $4. This downward trend has been especially noticeable in sizes 18 to 24 of Peruvian fruit, which has generated concern among exporters.
