De Groot Fresh Group transfers business units to EDEKA Einkaufskontor GmbH

The De Groot fresh group business units have been transferred to EDEKA Einkaufskontor GmbH in an acquisition agreement. This transaction includes the De Groot International and De Groot Fresh Ripening units, both based in Hedel.

Approval from the Dutch Competition Authority is required before the transaction can be completed; the financial details of this transaction remain confidential. Meanwhile, the staff who will be part of EDEKA Einkaufskontor GmbH have been informed.

These business units are part of the family-owned De Groot Fresh Group, established in 1930, which includes divisions such as De Groot Fresh Transport, De Groot Fruit & Vegetables, De Groot Fresh Produce UK, and De Groot Real Estate. With a global presence, the company serves a wide range of sectors, from retailers and wholesalers to foodservice providers.
