Colombia reduces its avocado exports by 24% in week 17 and prioritizes the US market.

Colombia recorded the export of 65 containers of avocados during week 16, representing a 24% decrease compared to the previous week. The volume was also 18% lower than the level recorded during the same period last year.

Of the total exported, 57% went to the United States, while the remainder went to Europe. This distribution reflects a growing interest in the US market, a trend that could continue in the coming weeks, according to reported projections.

The concentration of shipments to the United States coincides with a time when a progressive reduction in Mexican volume is anticipated, as that country approaches the end of its export season.
