Colombia shows setbacks in avocado exports in these first weeks of 2025

The Colombian avocado export market closed week 1 with a total of 138 containers shipped. Of this volume, Europe received 65%, the United States 35%, and Latin America less than 1%. However, these figures reflect a 23% drop in shipments compared to the previous week, and an additional 9% decrease compared to the same week last year.

Furthermore, current volume is far from the peak recorded in week 50 of last year. In just three weeks, shipments have fallen by more than 100%.

The coming weeks will be key to determining whether the sector can recover the dynamism it showed at the end of last year.
