Colombia has increased shipments and expects to exceed 200 containers by next week.

The third week of the year ended with the shipment of 196 containers of avocados from Colombia, marking a 13% increase compared to the previous week and 10% above the same period last year. This volume reaffirms the dynamism of the current season, although changes are already anticipated in the coming weeks.

Of the total shipments, 60% were destined for Europe, consolidating its position as the main market, while the remaining 40% went to the United States. In terms of market share, Europe reached 19% and the United States 3% during week 3.

Projections indicate that shipments could exceed 200 containers next week, but a decrease in volume is also expected toward the end of the season. According to Jorge Molina in his most recent column for Avonews, this trend is related to the main harvest nearing its end, while the off-season is showing signs of delay.
