China reduces its avocado imports and prices fall to levels lower than in previous years.

The Chinese avocado market closed the week with a significant drop in arrival volume, registering only 15 shipments, a 29% decrease compared to the previous week. Of the total, 80% of the volume came from Peru, while the remainder arrived from Chile, although both origins reduced their shipments compared to the previous week.

The lower fruit imports reflect a phase of demand adjustment, coinciding with the seasonal transition among the main suppliers in the Southern Hemisphere. In this context, Peruvian supply remains dominant, but the simultaneous decline in production from both countries has limited overall availability at Chinese ports.

Regarding price behavior, the market also showed a downward trend. Sizes between 18 and 24 experienced an average decrease of 7%, falling below the values recorded in 2024 and even 2023. During the same period last year, prices remained within a more stable range, while this year they show greater volatility in market behavior.
