Recent developments in the avocado market in China

China receives 68 shipments in week 10, and Peru accounts for 82% of the supply.

China records 68 shipments in week 10, more than double that of 2025. Peru leads with 82% of the supply and prices show an average drop of 6%.

The Chinese avocado market recorded a total of 68 shipments arriving in the country during week 10, representing a 6% increase compared to the previous week and a volume that far exceeds, more than double, that recorded in the same period of 2025.

The supply was concentrated mainly in Peru, which accounted for 82% of the total volume. Chile ranked second with a 16% share, while Mexico registered a shipment that made up approximately the remaining 1% of the supply.

Compared to the previous week, changes were observed in the market share of the main origins. Shipments from Peru increased by 17%, consolidating its presence in the Chinese market, while volumes from Chile decreased by 31%, reflecting a smaller share of the weekly supply.

Regarding prices, the average price for sizes 18 to 24 fell by approximately 6%. The most significant decreases were observed in sizes close to medium, which saw drops exceeding 15%. In contrast, size 18 showed a different trend, with an increase of approximately 7%.

Despite the average price drop this week, current values remain above those recorded in 2025, when prices fell below $4 per kilogram. In recent weeks, the market has shown more stable prices, in contrast to last year, when price fluctuations tended to last only a few weeks before reversing.
