China increases its weekly avocado arrivals by 8%, and Chile accounts for 89% of the volume

The Chinese market closed week 45 with 27 avocado shipments, an 8% increase compared to the previous week. Supply was heavily dominated by Chile, which contributed 89% of the total, while Peru accounted for 11%. Peru's share continues to decline in line with seasonality and the gradual closing of its export window.

A clear shift was observed in the weekly comparison by origin: shipments from Peru fell 63% compared to the previous week, a decline largely offset by Chile, whose shipments increased 41% during the same period. This realignment consolidates Chile as the main supplier at this stage of the season and maintains Peru's marginal share.

In terms of prices, a 5% drop was recorded for sizes 18 to 24. The absence of reported variations for other sizes prevents a complete diagnosis by curve, but the signal suggests an adjustment in the middle range that could respond to greater occasional availability and the need to boost turnover in wholesale channels.
