This agreement, anticipated since the 2023 BRICS summit, is expected to extend the supply of avocados to China for seven months, from April to October.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce the trade deficit among the BRICS countries, with China leading imports from South Africa. South Africa's entry as an avocado supplier to China adds to the expansion efforts of the agricultural industry in the African nation.
