Official results of Peruvian Hass avocado exports.
Peru's 2025 campaign: strong recovery and European focus
Peru closed 2025 with a 38% increase in Hass avocado exports. Europe accounted for 62.6% of the volume, and the US showed a significant recovery.

The 2025 Peruvian Hass avocado season marked a significant recovery after the decline observed in 2024. According to the official ProHass report, between weeks 1 and 52 of 2025, Peru exported 32,700 containers, equivalent to 722,754 metric tons, compared to 23,747 containers and 523,035 metric tons the previous year. Year-on-year, this represented growth of approximately 38%, both in volume and tonnage.
The increase was reflected in most destinations and also in the seasonal dynamics. According to ProHass, the campaign showed greater momentum from the second quarter onwards, with notable year-on-year increases in April (+44%), May (+73%), June (+30%), July (+27%), August (+62%), and September (+151%), while the first months of the year showed negative variations compared to 2014. This pattern confirmed a campaign that gained traction as the season progressed.
From a destination perspective, Europe was once again the central focus of the campaign. In 2025, the continent accounted for 452,637 metric tons, equivalent to 62.6% of total exports, with 20,284 containers shipped. The volume exported to Europe grew by 39% compared to 2024, consolidating this market as the main recipient of Peruvian avocados. For the year to date, total avocado arrivals in Europe reached 967,232 metric tons, maintaining Peru's position as the leading source of avocados on the continent.

In the United States, Peruvian exports reached 101,137 metric tons in 2025, compared to 65,774 metric tons in 2024, representing a 54% year-over-year increase. Despite this growth, the U.S. market remained highly concentrated, with Mexico as the dominant source. Total arrivals to the United States reached 1,403,376 metric tons for the year.
Asia also showed a significant recovery from the ProHass base. In 2025, Peru exported 75,365 metric tons to the continent, 41% more than in 2024, representing 10.4% of total exports. In South America, Chile received 64,749 metric tons, with marginal growth compared to the previous year (+2%), which resulted in a loss of relative share within total exports. The Other Americas bloc doubled its volume, going from 13,774 to 28,865 metric tons, although from a smaller base.

At the business level, ProHass exhibited an export structure with concentrated leadership. The top ten companies accounted for 44.3% of total exports, led by Avocado Packing Company, Westfalia Fruit Perú, and Agrícola Cerro Prieto, followed by a broad group of medium and small exporters.
In addition to reading the official data, the analysis by the Avobook team provides a more detailed view of the campaign's evolution and Peru's position in specific markets.
From this perspective, Avobook confirms that Europe not only accounted for approximately 62% of exports, but also that Peru strengthened its leadership, increasing its share of the European total from 40% in 2024 to 47% in 2025. In the United States, the 53% growth in volume also translated into a greater relative share, although in a market where Mexico continues to set the pace of supply.
Avobook highlights the performance of Asia, driven by China, Japan, and Korea. In China, Peru maintained its absolute leadership with an 81% market share. In Japan, Peruvian origin increased its presence from 24% to 36%, while Korea consolidated its position as one of the most strategic markets, with a 77% Peruvian market share projected for 2025. These results position Asia as a key driver in destination diversification.
In the Americas, the analysis identifies emerging opportunities in Canada and Argentina, which, despite representing smaller volumes, showed significant growth and increased participation from Peru. In contrast, Chile, even though it remains a virtually exclusive market, registered a slight decrease in volume, losing relative importance within total exports.
Taken together, the information from ProHass and the analysis from Avobook show that the 2025 campaign not only meant a recovery in volume, but also a reconfiguration of Peru's positioning in the main markets, with Europe as a central pillar, Asia as a strategic engine and the United States as a destination in controlled expansion.
