Decline in Chilean exports and predominance of Latin America as the main destination

Chile ended the eighth week of the year with a drop in avocado exports, registering a total of 90 containers shipped. This figure represents a 13% decrease compared to the previous week and marks the first time this season that shipments have fallen below 100 containers per week. This is unprecedented, as exports had been increasing since week 33 .

Regarding the distribution of shipments, Latin America consolidated its position as the main destination, receiving 51% of Chilean exports. It is followed by the United States with 23%, Europe with 21%, and Asia with just 4%. This shift in distribution could be explained by the logistical and commercial difficulties of shipping large volumes to Europe at this time of year, which has led Chilean exporters to prioritize closer and more accessible markets.
